About
Hi, my name is James Courtney. I am a freelance consultant working in communications and technology for over twenty years.
Since 2010 I have mostly worked in the disability sector on a range of paid and voluntary projects with some of the Northern Territory's biggest providers.
My driving interest is the positive use of technology, and I stay up to date with advances in Augmented Assistive Communications (AAC) and accessible technology.
My focus is on empowering people to utilise technology for:
communicating
learning
sharing feelings and opinions
being organised
having fun
being safe
feeling supported
I work directly with people, families and carers. I am a registered sole trader, fully insured, doing contracted support work.
I work from my family home in the Darwin suburb Tiwi, where I live with my wife, young son, our lovely little dog, seven chickens, two scrub fowl and an unknown number of bees, frogs, lizards and fish.
